Turn your book link into a QR code worth printing

A book QR code is a scannable version of a URL. The QR codes generated by KDPBook Link contain your short product or review link, so scanning one follows the same regional redirect as clicking the link.

Generate and download a QR code

Sign in, paste an Amazon book URL or ASIN and create your short links. Each result shows its own QR preview: one for the product page and one for the review form. Choose PNG on the panel you want to download.

The image downloads to your device. It is not a saved design project in the dashboard. Keep the original file and a text copy of the URL with your publishing materials.

Make the destination obvious

Use a short caption next to the QR code. “Find this book on Amazon” works for a product link. “Leave an honest review on Amazon” explains a review link. These two codes lead to different destinations, so check the label against the URL.

Include the short URL in readable text as an alternative for readers who cannot scan the code. Preserve the capitalization of the six-character code when you type it.

Check the actual print, not just the screen

Keep the white margin around the QR code and strong contrast between the dark modules and the background. Avoid stretching, cropping, placing artwork over the code, or printing across a fold.

The suitable physical size depends on print quality, viewing distance and the surrounding design. Make a proof at the intended size and test the real object rather than relying on a screenshot.

  1. Scan the printed proof with more than one phone if possible.
  2. Confirm that the code opens the correct product page or review form.
  3. Check that the intended edition is available in the destination store.
  4. Verify that the printed short URL matches the downloaded QR code.

Where QR codes fit

Bookmarks, postcards, author-event displays and book back matter are practical places to provide a link readers can scan. Place the code where it can be seen flat and in good light. Keep it away from trim edges.

A QR code is simply another way to open the same URL. Scans are not a separate measurement in the current analytics: they appear as redirects alongside ordinary link clicks.

What happens later?

The QR image has no separate expiry timer. It keeps opening the encoded URL while that link and the service remain available. Ending paid access does not disable the redirect.

Free generation remains unlimited, and readers do not need a KDPBook Link account. Your links are saved to your dashboard, where you can copy them or download their QR codes again.
